Cool Physics experiment
As the title says

Rappin’ about CERN’s Large Hadron Collider! Links below… Apparently YouTube fixed the sound! Still, Will Barras made two options trying to get around the original problems: Other YouTube:www.youtube.com Vimeo: www.vimeo.com Vimeo is downloadable if you log in. There has been a lot of interest in the original mp3, lyrics, and vocals for remixing. You can find all that here: www.msu.edu There’s also been interest in translation. You can get a subtitle-free version from Vimeo here (downloadable): www.vimeo.com With backing track available here (with and without Hawking-style voice): barras.ws Go ahead and translate, rap it, and post it! Just give us a shout-out, and it’s probably a good idea to include the following credits
Images came from: particlephysics.ac.uk, space.com, the Institute of Physics, NASA, Symmetry, and Marvel I forgot Einstein Online, and they called me out: www.einstein-online.info And I forgot Physics World (dunno what I was thinking when I put together the extra dimensions bit). Steve Abel set me to rights (but made no demands) physicsworld.com The talented dancers doubled as camera people, with some work by Neil Dixon. Stock footage is CERN’s. Will Barras is responsible for the killa beats: www.ling.ed.ac.uk And thanks to MC Hawking, who first thought of using computer-voice to bring Stephen Hawking to the world of rap
www.mchawking.com The rapper has a day job (we agree this is a good thing) as a science writer. www.katemcalpine.com They’ll …
@rogeriofraxe Good point
@Buntonatar basically because you put Omfg l33t c0ol ass vid
SO AWESOME!!!!!
@Buntonatar physics teacher around the United States have been showing this the past 2-3 years xD maybe that’s why? I’m sure most teachers don’t even know the name of this thing. xD
@Buntonatar no clue but its cool
@Buntonatar sound and wave unit-8th grade science, but it still is really cool anways
@Buntonatar cause its cool.
omg this would ve soo cool at a pool or beach party =p~
thats tight!
What happens if you change the length or width of the pipe? Can you drill larger holes, too? Just put them further apart? More gas? I guess I just want to know the possible scale. Can the pipe be curved?
It’s really awesome!!!
Yeah my lecturer show this to us in our college!
@Buntonatar I think this was on Mythbusters at some point, but I’m not too sure.
@Buntonatar why not? cheers
really cool
neat o!
WHOOOOOAAAA RADICAL
having that those at a party would be so sik.
@Buntonatar because everyone loves cool experiments, and music moving fire is about the coolest combination of things in the entire world. good work.
Pretty cool man
It should be called dancing flames experiment ;D
Physics may be boring, but when flames are included it becomes awesome
@Buntonatar This is kind of cool actually
kool a mundo…
That is fricking awesome XD
spiffy! that was fun! I guess ‘fire’ by the crazy world of arthur brown was too obvious a choice for the heavier music huh?
Sweet!
Check out the vid “Welcome to the physics class!”
@Anthonyk312 Yes
@Anthonyk312 Yes

@York22
It will find things, a lot of things. Just watch the video THEN comment, and you will understand what the LHC is for. Almost everything we know about particles is from particle colliders (even electron microscopes can’t go down to this level). The LHC is the best one built so far, so it will discover much more.
does any one know where I can find information like this, which is not intended for fifteen year olds.
Can you store an antiparticle on an antishelf?
@LolCaramelz They use large magnets to control a beam of protons. Kind of like a gun barrel is used to control the bullet as it goes down the barrel. The bullet is the bunch of protrons. Two bullets going around the ring and they watch the collisons of the tow bullets to see what happens.
what’s the other dimension, don’t know the part about ‘rolling up’, ‘dimension’, ‘graviton’@@~!?
@xyTJxy 0.0
@wealthman777 But what do they have to do with particle physics and this video?
@gschjetne weel the fremasons are a very cultic organization under the quise of being do gooders investigate them
Hey have driven past it! Would’ve popped in if knew this was going on!
Awesome
I might be going to tour the LHC in a month or so. I’m not sure if I’m going to go unless I can meet Alpinekat!
@MrMunber xDDD im not a nerd its very strange see engeniers dancing
@wealthman777 Freemasons?
how does LHC@home work?
THE BEST SCIENTIFIC RAP EVER MADE!!!!!
Just expleining everything about LHC. LOVE IT!
I like it too cool a great way to let people know what (Cern) and freemasons are up too! Cern is a collection of the world’s top scientists
finally some fun
I’d just like to clear up something for those who keep asking what was before the Big Bang. Think of the universe as a globe. Assume the North Pole is the beginning. Now image yourself standing on the North Pole. I’m going to ask you now to face due north. Can you do it? The problem is every direction you face is due south. The origin of the universe is similar to this. There was nothing before the big bang but a singularity. Everything radiates “due south” from that point.
Better than Wayne LOL
i love this song it wierd
